At this year`s German Agricultural Society`s( DLG) annual awards, brother`s Harald and Uwe Ziegler, having already reaped the award in 2006,2008 and 2009, have now been decorated for the 4th time with the German Federal Award of Honour in gold, accrediting them once again with the title “VINTNER OF THE YEAR 2014”.

The German Agricultural Society (DLG) Federal Wine Awards are the leading and most prestigious awards for German wines and sekt. Strict test criteria and a jury of especially schooled experts from all German wine growing regions, make this the most sort after and highly looked upon award, show casing only the best of Germany`s wines and sparkling wines. This year, over 300 vintners, from all 13 wine growing regions took part. 4,500 different wines and sparkling wines were judged scrutinizingly. The results are published in internet under:  or  .

At the official 2014 Federal Awards Gala Ceremony in Mainz, Secretary of State Peter Bleser ( Minister of Food and Agriculture), DLG president Carl-Albrecht Bartmer and the German Wine Queen Janina Huhn, proudly presented Uwe and Harald Ziegler with this award for best overall results.

“It is only a combination of expert knowledge, absolute appreciation of vineyard conditions together with exemplary work in the cellar, which will achieve the production of extremely high quality and sparkling wines. Only those succeeding, will have long term gain. The reward for this achievement is the Federal Award of Honour, the highest of all  awards in the German Wine Industry”. These words of praise were given to the winners of this year`s awards by DLG president Carl-Albrecht Bartmer.
